Strawberry Scone Tarts
If you’re looking for a healthier breakfast, try these Strawberry Scone Tarts. Made with fresh strawberries and 100% vegan, these little treats are the healthy way to start your day!
Good morning and Happy Monday. So today is the day…the day I fly to Atlanta for work. Well, I actually won’t be flying until this evening. I’ll be at work until about 2:30.
I’ll admit, I’m a little nervous about flying. I don’t like flying. I haven’t flown since 2002. I intended to keep it that way but then work happened so alas, I must fly. I asked if I could drive instead but that wasn’t really a realistic option. It would be an 8 hour drive. The flight is only about an hour and forty-five minutes. Flying = cheaper. Driving = more expensive.
I don’t really know why I don’t like flying. I mean, I really do think it’s cool to look out the window, to have a birds eye view of everything. I really like looking out the window as we are landing. It means the flight is almost over! Plus, the scenery looks really neat. I think my biggest issue with flying is being up in the air. I do not like heights. They pretty much freak me out.
But I need to get over this little fear. At least for now. Because I have to fly and there is nothing I can do about that. Of course, unless I decide to quit my job. And that isn’t going to happen. You can guarantee that I’ll be having a beer or a cocktail on the flight. It will definitely relax me!
So let’s talk about this Strawberry Scone Tart.
I call it a scone and a tart because it’s baked in tart form but the recipe is actually a scone recipe. I don’t have a scone pan and I didn’t feel like shaping the batter so I just poured it into my 9 inch springform pan. Worked like a charm, don’t ya think? Adapted from King Arthur Flour.

Hope you have an easy and smooth flight! There are times where I am fine flying and then times where I am scared out of my mind! It’s always the take off and landing that get me but then I just try to sleep through them and I’m good! Love how you put scones in tart form!
I’m ok with the landing. I know it’s almost over! It’s the taking off and being in the air that I don’t like. At least it’s a short flight! THank you for stopping by, Nancy!
Love these scones! Love the substitutions! Safe travels to you!
THank you so much, Shashi!
These look delicious, Julie! Have a calm, safe flight!
Thank you, Marcie!
Have a safe flight my dear and I hope it’s smooth! Have fun also in Atlanta ;)
Thanks, Zainab!
Great looking scones, I bet they were yummy! I don’t like flying either. I don’t like packing or boarding or flying or baggage claim or any thing about it! So I understand, but I hope it all goes smoothly for you! Let us know how it goes!!
Thank you, Paula! Well, the flight there was smooth but I was still very anxious. And you know how I ended up coming home. LOL
Your scones look srumptious.
Fingers crossed for your flight.

Thank you, Kate!
Wishing you safe travels, Julie! I went to college in Atlanta..love the city! These scones look amazing! I’ve never made them before but sounds easy enough. Can’t wait to try :)
Thank you, Min! I absolutely loved the area I was in. And I ended up driving home because 1. I really didn’t want to fly back and 2. My flight ended up being delayed anyways so I got home earlier than if I would have flown!
Hope the flight is an easy and quick one. Sometimes the anticipation is worse than the actual event. I say that as advice to myself too– I am flying this weekend with my boys and can’t say I look forward to it. They love it which helps a lot. Pretty scones!
Thank you, Holly! Well, I was anxious during the entire flight. It was even a smooth flight. And although it was smooth, I was anxious about flying home so I ended up renting a car and driving home. It took about 8 hours to drive home but I still got home earlier than if I would have flown. My flight was scheduled to leave ATL at 8:55pm but didn’t leave until 11:30pm. I left ATL at 1:30pm and got home at 9:15pm. Yay!
Hope you enjoy wherever you travel to and I hope your flight is smooth. :)
hope all went well today – this tart looks SO good!
Thank you, Heather!
Oh my gosh – this looks wonderful! I MUST have them right now!!!
Thank you, Kristi!
I love these! Let’s be real, scones are sometime annoying to make and shape, putting them in a tart pan is genius. And I hope your flight goes well!
Agreed! Here’s to coming up with winning ideas in the kitchen! Thanks for stopping by, Elizabeth!
Oh yum! These look fantastic! Perfect with some coffee or tea. Delicious Julie. :) Pinning!
Thank you, Anne!
I used to get scared flying too because of bad turbulence, but living abroad I had no choice but flying to go home. However, a pilot once told me it’s safer than driving a car and having an accident and I just took the chance and endure turbulence…not that I am ok now but I know I’d be okay…instead of having sweat on my hands. :) Hope your fear will go away so you can enjoy traveling! I love your strawberry scone tarts! Strawberries weren’t season in Japan, so I’m really glad to be back in California where we still have abundant strawberries in stores! I wish I have a piece for breakfast tomorrow. :)
Thank you, Nami! My flight was actually smooth but I was still nervous to fly back. And I was anxious on the flight over even though I had two large beers before boarding the plane. I actually rented a car and drove home from Atlanta. It took me 8 hours but I ended up getting home before my flight home even took off!
I enjoy the flying in a plane part, but I hate being crammed into such a small area with so many people. My flying anxiety is more about my germ-o-phobia! The strawberry scones look tasty! Safe Travels :)
Thank you, Nicole!
This looks amazing, Julie!! I know how you feel about flying. I had a bad flight in June and I’m nervous to fly to NYC next weekend!!
Thank you, Meghan! The flight over was pretty smooth but I was still so nervous. I was shaking while sitting on the plane. I think my foot was hitting the seat in front of me because the girl in front of me got up and moved to the seat next to hers. :/ Now I just have to go back. I hope this flight is equally as smooth! I hope yours is too!
Wow, what a great idea. LOVE that it is 100% vegan. I am definitely going to have to try these. I hope the flight went well and that the cocktail mellowed you out enough to relax. :) Pinning and sharing your awesome recipe!
Thank you, Krista! Ha, two large beers did not curb my anxiety! I ended up driving home. :) Thanks for stopping by!
Well, at least you got home safe. :)
These look delicious!!
Thank you, Melanie!

These are gorgeous!!!! Pinned like 5 times! :) I haven’t flown since I was 6 years old. It scares me. I mean, if my sister can fly a bajillion hours to France I’m sure I can handle it but… it’s not exciting.
Thank you, Heather! Eh, flying is not my thing. I flew there but I drove back. I chewed off my nails thinking about having to fly back. And my flight there was even smooth! I think I will stick to driving. :) Thanks for pinning!
These look so tender and crumbly. Delicious.
I don’t like flying either, Julie. I have the white-knuckles the whole time …. and every little noise or hint of turbulence makes me kinda freak out a little. Your Strawberry Scone Tarts sound delish :) I’m sharing this on Facebook today – thanks so much for linking up to All My Bloggy Friends! Have a great weekend! {hugs}
That’s exactly how I was, Jamie! I hadn’t flown since 2002. When the engine started making different noises as we were starting to descend, I was convinced something was wrong! I ended up renting a car and driving home. It was about an 8 hour drive. That’s how much I hate flying!
Thanks so much for sharing, Jamie!
Julie, you have me drooling everywhere! I think I still have some strawberries in the freezer, I sure hope so. Thanks for sharing at Thursday’s Treasures, I’m featuring you tonight both on the blog and FB!
Hi Joan! Thank you so much for the feature. You should give these a try sometime! Tasty and healthy! :)
