Basil Cream Sauce
This Basil Cream Sauce is great for topping seafood and chicken. It even works well as a dipping sauce for fries or grilled potatoes!
One of my favorite herbs is basil. The aroma and taste of it just brighten my day. I love that it can be used to season a variety of dishes including spaghetti and marinara sauces, pizzas (think Margerita pizza)
caprese salad, soups and to prepare pesto.
When trying to decide on a cream sauce to use on the
cedar plank tilapia that we made the other night, I decided to make a basil cream sauce. I have a small herb garden and my basil plants needed to be harvested. So I took some clippings, shared some with my neighbor since I had so many, and went to work on making a basil cream sauce. Please enjoy this delicious recipe.
This recipe is best prepared the night before as allowing it to sit lets the flavors mingle together and become robust.
